This is Barbara Hettwer's first novel. She is a retired schoolteacher and high school principal. Her mother was a seamstress in New York and a tailor in California, and Barbara attended Catholic schools growing up. She grew up in the city and moved with her horse to mountain foothills, where life is more rural and rough. Her current hobbies include playing the piano and riding horses. All of these experiences are combined into her story and her characters.
