Hersh, Sholom

Sholom Hersh was born in 1928 to a Jewish family living in a primitive Romanian village without running water or electricity. In 1944 he and his family were captured by the Germans and sentenced to Auschwitz. The only one of them to survive the war, Hersh immigrated to the United States, where he eventually married, raised a family, and became a successful businessman.
