Carl T. Herakovich is (the Henry L. Kinnier) Professor Emeritus in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia. He received a BS in Civil Engineering at Rose Polytechnic Institute (now Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology), MS in Mechanics at The University of Kansas, and PhD in Mechanics at Illinois Institute of Technology. He taught in the Engineering Science and Mechanics Department at Virginia Tech for twenty years prior to joining the faculty of the University of Virginia.
