12 Days of Pumpkin was created by Charlene Heiss and Thomas E. Uharriet Charlene Heiss taught special education for 45 years, teaching all grades from Kindergarten through university levels, in California, Washington, and Kansas. For several years, she used a prototype of this book, with simple line drawings, to teach her students to read as they cheerfully sang along.
