I am Bruce Heckman, a 72 year old physician who has been writing poetry, stories, and song lyrics since I was nine years old. I hve had a few things published and produced two CD's with lyrics that I composed. HMy five grandchildren were the inspiration to put the story in book form with wonderful illustrations. I hve not been able to find any evidence of a previous retelling of the myth in any children's literature. The myth was found while researching a recipe for Pastiera, a sweet Easter pie.
