William Hawkins was born and raised in a small town in southern New Jersey. Much of his youth was spent traveling through the Pine Barrens with his father. After High School, he went to college in West Virginia where he received a B.A. from Alderson Broaddus College in 1971. He moved to Southern California in 1976. He now lives in Northern Arizona, where he enjoys working with his horses and writing his stories. He is also the author of The H.E.R.O. Project and The Creek and from the Cherry series The Terrible Ruckus on Paradise Isle and The Rise and Fall of Blackjack Midnight.
