ABOUT CONNIE HAWKINS Dubbed by family and friends as the Erma Bombeck of Kawkawlin, Michigan, Connie Hawkins was born with cerebral palsy in 1946. She developed a love of writing at an early age publishing her first poem at the age of 9. She uses her handicapped coupled with her ability to write and tell a good story to entertain audiences of all ages.
