Hawke, Jon David

Jon David Hawke was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1950, the son of an English father and german mother. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to the French Island of Martinique in the Caribbean. When he was 19, he left Martinique, worked on tramp steamers and banana boats satisfying his wanderlust as he traveled the world. Continuing as a sea-drifter, he frequently the Tropic regions from the Florida Keys and the Bahamas in the north to Trinidad in the south.
