The author is a retired university research administrator, rare and antiquarian book collector and dealer, living in Iowa City, Iowa with his wife and three dogs. This is his first book but plans a second book on the history of the literature on the dog through the early twentieth century, primarily focusing on sentimental dogs stories and fiction.
