Clementine Paddleford (1898-1967) was born and raised at Stockdale, Kansas. She graduated Manhattan High School, Manhattan, KS, in 1917. In 1921, she graduated with an Industrial Journalism degree from Kansas State Agriculture College, Manhattan, KS. Paddleford was known as the "best food in the United States" between the years 1936 and 1967. She wrote food columns six days a week for The New York Herald Tribune newspaper and a Sunday syndicated column for This Week Magazine. In 1960, Charles Scribner's Son published Paddleford's book "How America Eats."
