Alain Besanç on is Director of Studies at L’ É cole des Hautes É tudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. A specialist in Russian politics and intellectual history, he is the author of "The Forbidden Image: An Intellectual History of Iconoclasm" and "The Falsification of the Good: Soloviev and Orwell."
