Terry Hamburg studied psychology and history at a string of alma maters-the Universities of Illinois, Southern California, Michigan, and Cambridge University (UK)-before taking a sabbatical to wander the brave new counterculture terrain. Eventually, he wanted to re-join the mainstream but not one that ran through academia. The antiques business found him.
