James A. Stimson is Raymond Dawson Distinguished Bicentennial Professor of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina in 1970. He previously taught at SUNY-Buffalo, Florida State, and the Universities of Houston, Iowa, and Minnesota.
