Gerald Greene is a Vietnam War veteran having served with the Navy Seabees near Da Nang.His squad was tasked to work on a Marine fire base near Hoi An. Memories of life at the fire base add to realistic accounts of combat situations. The experience brought him in close contact with 155mm and 105mm artillery batteries, B-52 rolling thunder bombing runs, F-4 airstrikes, and puff the magic dragon gunships, which helped keep the VC at bay.
