Grant, Philip

After graduating from medical school in Edinburgh, George Philip practiced at the city's Royal Infirmary, then at St James's Hospital, Leeds. Among other specialities he worked in pathology: "I did about a hundred autopsies - but never one on a murder victim... as far as I am aware!"

After several years in the Middle East he finished his working life as a GP in London and began writing. He now lives in Spain.
