Graham attended St. John's College, Annapolis, MD and Santa Fe, New Mexico graduating from the Santa Fe Campus in 1973. The curriculum there has one of the heaviest reading schedules in American colleges. He went to Santiniketan, West Bengal, where he studied 10th Century Tibetan and Buddhist logic with Lama Ji and Lama Chimpa. He taught this Time-Module Intensive Reading Program at the University of Paris XIII for eight years in a Master's degree course for documentalists.
