Marlo Gottfurcht signed up for a Facebook account almost three years ago. Over 600 friends later, she realized that she was using the site more and more to interact with old friends and to find what she was looking for; a sense of identity, individuality, and excitement. With Facebook, she found support and a new optimism about her future. It also gave her a sense of empowerment to realize that her own marriage was ending.
