Roger Gordon was born in 1943 in Sheffield, England, where he spent the first 26 years of his life. After obtaining his B.Sc. and Ph.D in Zoology from Sheffield University, he immigrated to Canada in 1969. He pursued a successful career as a scientist and faculty member at three Canadian universities and served as Dean of Science at the University of Prince Edward Island from 1997-2006.
