Peter Golato is an Associate Professor of French and SLATE (Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he served as co-director of the French Basic Language Program from 1999-2004. He holds a Ph.D. in French Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin.
