VIRGINIA GILBERT is a BAFTA-nominated, award-winning writer and director in film, television, radio and fiction. Her screenwriting work has been placed on the BritList and she was named as a 'Star of Tomorrow' by Screen International. Her debut feature film as writer-director, 'A Long Way From Home', starring Brenda Fricker and James Fox, will premiere in the UK in 2013. Her short fiction has been published internationally, broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and RTE Radio 1, and her debut collection of stories was shortlisted for the Scott Prize 2011.
