Laurie Gifford Adams taught middle school English in Connecticut for 26 years before moving back to the Finger Lakes of New York, where her books are set. Laurie grew up on a dairy farm with her parents, one sister and three brothers, and a plethora of animals. She and her husband, Jim, live in their dream home on 33 acres above Canandaigua Lake. They have two children, Carrie Beth and Nick, a dog, Mollie, a grandkitty named Scooter, and two horses, a Palomino named Sasha and an Appaloosa named Lacey.
