Doris D. Gibson received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Michigan State University, her Master's Degree in the Teaching of Social Studies from the University of Virginia, and a Master's Degree in Anthropology from the Catholic University of America. After earning her degrees, she taught for 17 years in the Alexandria, Virginia school system.
