Cihangir Gener was born in Ankara in 1957, and graduated from T.E.D. Ankara College and Gazi University, Faculty of Communications. He worked as a reporter on Free Men Magazine, and for Anka and Anatolia Agencies. He was appointed to RTUK (the Radio and Television Supreme Council) as Regional and Local Broadcasts Coordinator and retired from this post. The first volume of Cihangir Gener's first book, which he wrote in 1993, The History of Esoteric Anagogical Doctrines was reprinted thirteen times in Turkey and is currently being translated into English. Following the publication of the second
