Writer, teacher, Brooklyn native, Ph.D. in labor relations, gardener, wife and mother are some fitting descriptors of Denise Gelberg. Since leaving the classroom in 2006, she has devoted herself to writing about the things that occupy her thoughts during long swims and runs.
