Garner, Josephine

Author Josephine Garner is from a small, working class, African American community near Dallas, Texas, known as Bear Creek. Although now living near Atlanta, Georgia her roots remain deeply grounded in East Texas history and culture. As a social worker Garner has a successful career in public service, working to promote health and social justice. She focuses her writing on the exploration and celebration of all the fascinating complexities of life. Solomon's Blues is her first novel.
