As a child, I loved to read books. Every summer I'd go to the library and bring home as many books as I could borrow. I was so stirred by novels such as To Kill a Mockingbird and The Grapes of Wrath, I hoped to write my own literary novels someday. To overcome boredom in high school, I day dreamed, thinking up stories that I was sure one day would be published. I won several awards for my essays and short stories in high school. After obtaining my BA degree, I worked for a short time before putting my career aside to bring up my family. In the meantime, as they were growing up, I wrote poetry
