Annelise Freisenbruch received her PhD in Classics from Cambridge University in 2004. She has worked as a freelance history researcher on a number of ancient world books and media, including Bettany Hughes'sHelen of Troy (Vintage) and BBC S Ancient Rome. Her first nonfiction book, Caesar s Wives, has been published in five different languages and has received critical acclaim. Blood in the Tiber is her first novel.
