Clive Franks was born in Croydon, England, to HM Forces parents. He grew up in several countries including; Kenya, Singapore and Cyprus and in 1975 as a teenager, he returned to enlist into the British Army . He served for eleven years then, joined the British Police Service. Amongst his many and varied duties, he taught Drugs Education and Citizen Safety in schools. His first book, "The Terrible Battle for Billy Watson," was a local best seller and was nominated for several prestigious awards.
