Francis, MR Brian

Brian Francis, born in London, as a child he emigrated with his parents to Australia as a 10 Pom where he was educated in the state of Victoria at Yallourn Technical College and Horsham High School. On leaving school he spent the first 3 years of his working life as a jackaroo on a sheep station in Western Victoria. In 1965 his lust for adventure resulted in him embarking on a 14,500 mile, 5 month journey driving his 1200cc 1961 vintage Volkswagen Beetle from Sydney to London, via India Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey and then through most of Europe.
