Dan Ford is a native New Mexican, born in Roswell to parents who were raised in the Pecos Valley. Ford graduated from Aztec in 1966. He attended and graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in 1968. After college he started a banking career that continues today (2011) in Bayfield, CO where he now serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pine River Valley Bank. Ford's banking career has taken him from Colorado to Albuquerque to Alaska until he landed in Bayfield in 1988.
