J. C. A. Flath has enjoyed Westerns since he was a child in Dallas, Texas, when he met the frontier cowboy B. E. Denton, known as The Two Gun Cyclone. Westerns by the likes of Zane Grey, Luke Short, and Louis L'Amour; adventure stories like "Treasure Island", " Huckleberry Finn", " Tom Sawyer"; and beloved folktales, such as "The Tales of Uncle Remus, "have long ignited Flath's imagination and continue to influence his storytelling.
