Maria Fire (Asheville, NC), a lifelong knitter, began working with the dust and magic of writing poetry when she turned fifty. Formerly a lawyer, hospice director, and message therapist, she lives in Asheville, North Carolina, with her husband of thirty-two years. Her poems have been published in journals across the country.
