Collin Fields was born in London, England in 1983. From a young age, he was attracted to the book arts, painting, and film. He often skipped school to attend picture openings at the downtown theaters. He always believed getting life experience was the path to becoming a real writer. These were what he now calls his formative years. He studied writing and film at the University of Essex, against the advice of his parents, who thought he should enter a more stable field.
