Tanya Ferguson earned her bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro after the birth of her first child. Prior to having children, she worked as a registered nurse in a geriatric unit in a hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut, on a cardiac unit in a hospital in North Carolina, and as a school nurse working mostly with elementary school children. Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, she now resides in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
