Leo C. Frisk, Jr. was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island in 1950. When he was seven years-old, his family moved to a small country town in Massachusetts. It was here, living in a house with a backyard filled with woods and ponds, he grew up learning about and playing with all kinds of animals and insects. Catching snakes and turtles during the day and lightning bugs at night were just a few of his regular childhood adventures.
