Esterly, David

David Esterly is a limewood foliage carver in the Gibbons tradition, whose skill led the British government to bring him from his home in upstate New York to play a key role in restoring Gibbons carvings at Hampton Court Palace following a fire in 1986. Esterly curated the Grinling Gibbons exhibition at the V&A in October 1998. This book was created as the catalogue to that exhibition.
