Karen Emmorey received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1987. She is currently a senior staff scientist at the Salk Institute in the Laboratory for Cognitive Neuroscience. She has been awarded research grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
