Vice Admiral George W. Emery was appointed the 24th Commander of the Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, and Commander Submarine Allied Command Atlantic by President Clinton in 1993 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1996. Born and raised in Maine, Admiral Emery graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1963.
