Ken Ellis has written for "Flypast" since its prototype days in 1981, and in 1988 he launched sister journal "AirForces Monthly" -- devoted to modern military aviation. He has edited "Air Enthusiast" since 1990, writing features on subjects from Airbus production programs to South Africa's Rooivalk attack helicopter. Outside of "FlyPast", Ellis is best known for Wrecks & Relics, the biennial 'bible' of the UK preservation movement. He is author or co-author of 12 other titles. Ellis is a member of 20+ aviation societies and groups and holds a private pilots license, flying whenever he can.
