Edwards, Kenneth

Edwards was Vice Chancellor of the University of Leicester from 1987 to 1999. During that period he was also, for two years, from 1993 to 1995, Chairman of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of the UK. From 1998 to 2001 he was President of the Association of European Universities. Before the Leicester appointment he had been in Cambridge University for over 20 years, for most of hte time as a Lecturer in Genetics, but from 1984 to 1987 as Secretary-General of the Faculties, the senior academic administrative post in the University.
