Ken Ebert was born and raised in Clayton, Missouri, where he received an exceptional education in the Clayton Public Schools. At age sixteen his family moved to the Florida Keys, where he lived for the next 23 years. Ken was a teenaged bartender in Islamorada, Florida. The contrasts between the urban upbringing and the subsequent years in the islands gave Ken a unique perspective on life, as well as a strong belief in magic, which was the only way he could account for the differences between the two places.
