Tina T. Dyches, EdD, is associate professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Special Education at Brigham Young University. She has worked in the field of helping individuals with disabilities and their families for over 25 years as a special educator, professor, and consultant. Dyches has written several articles and two books about using children's literature that includes characters with disabilities. She is one of the founders of the Dolly Gray Children's Literature Award, which recognizes high-quality children's books that portray characters with developmental disabilities.
