Rich was the voice behind his son Nixon's blog while he was fighting constant battles in & out of the hospital. Every week he would update Nixon's sizable group of followers dubbed the Wildcard Army, and let them know how Nixon did that week. One particular day when Nixon wasn't doing so well in the PICU, Rich decided to write a short story, hoping that one day he could read the story to his son at bedtime. Nixon passed away days later.
