Douglas, Jack D.

Jack D. Douglas is professor emeritus of sociology at the University of California, San Diego. He also taught at Wellesley, Dartmouth, and the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to his work published in journals, he is the author or editor of numerous books, including The Social Meaning of Suicide, The Relevance of Sociology, Observations of Deviance, and The Myth of the Welfare State.
