Dorothy Gross has been writing poetry since she was a teenager. Her first poem, 'Nature's Lullaby, ' was written while she was a Junior at Haverford High School in Pennsylvania. Published then in the school quarterly, Pen and Ink, the poem has since been reworked and appears in its final form in this book, as the poem 'Adieu.' Gross' poetry has appeared in Maine Life Magazine, Bittersweet Magazine, and in Grits, as well as in the Advertiser Democrat, a weekly newspaper located in Norway, Maine.
