Doody, Dave

A pilot and an instructor with Japan Air Lines in his twenties, Dave Doody later worked with NASA's Deep Space Network as a training systems engineer. Since then he has been with Caltech at JPL for more than twenty years in space flight operations. Currently the lead engineer for real-time operations of Cassini, which is orbiting Saturn, Dave is also an instructor with Art Center College of Design Public Programs in Pasadena, California, where annually he teaches an evening course on the Basics of Interplanetary Flight (see www.tinyurl.com/SpaceGroundSchool).
