Alexis Donkin was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. At the age of five she moved to Albany, New York where she spent her formative years. Her mother started reading to her while she was in utero, and Alexis began writing stories when she was in late elementary school. Taught like many authors that she couldn't make a go of writing, Alexis didn't pursue it as a career however she never stopped journaling and writing poems.
