Doherty, William J.

William J. Doherty, PhD, is Professor and Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at the University of Minnesota. He has practiced as a marriage and family therapist for over 21 years, and is former president of the National Council on Family Relations. An award-winning teacher and frequent speaker to lay and professional audiences, Dr. Doherty was cited as one of the 10 most innovative therapists in the United States by the "Utne Reader" in 1997.
