received an MS from the University of Dayton. She has taken postgraduate studies at Ohio State, West Virginia University, Kent State, and Ohio University. She was employed as a dental assistant/hygienist in oral surgery, orthodontics, and general practices before she became a dental assisting instructor and Diversified Cooperative Health Occupations coordinator at Belmont Career Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
