His debut novel, A Case for Drones, draws on personal experiences in unsavory parts of the world, including the USSR during the Cold War, Pakistan, and Iran immediately prior to the 1979 ouster of the Shah, and far more pleasurable experiences in such countries as Italy, Sweden, the Hawaiian Islands and Tahiti. Dodd, a native of England, is a former executive in the Information Technology industry, during which he lived in ten countries across the world and visited fifty.
